We plan the working days with 3 to 4 hour shifts at a time. You will have at least 2 shifts per day, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the Summit.
The majority of the shifts run from just before the start of the conference (around 8 AM), and a few shifts require arriving earlier to set things up.
Unfortunately, Hack can’t cover your travel and accommodation. There’s plenty of accommodation available in Lausanne, and you’re welcome to team up with other volunteers to rent a flat in our beautiful city.
Hack will provide you with plenty of innovative food and drinks during your shifts and an original HACK t-shirt.
"Shortly after volunteering at HackSummit, I secured an internship in the impact sector.
The company is led by an inspiring keynote speaker whom I heard during the summit. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at the summit, as it led to this amazing connection.”

"I volunteered in 2022 and 2023 at the HackSummit, and would do it again any day.
Great conversations, inspiring people, amazing food and startups and a shared goal to bring innovation to life. There is no other event or community like this. Taking part and contributing to it is a real pleasure!"

"Attending the keynotes and pitches expanded my horizons on food sustainability. I would definitely recommend volunteering.
As a student of food science, I was amazed to meet and connect with stakeholders of the entire food system like funders & ventures, start ups, novel-idea creators, other scientists, media influencers and many more."

"I wholeheartedly encourage anyone passionate about food, climate, and technology to join as a volunteer.
At the HackSummit I met so many inspiring people that not only taught me about cutting-edge solutions but also made me feel empowered to contribute meaningfully to a cause greater than myself. Volunteering for the HackSummit allows you to join a great community that helps to build a more sustainable future for our planet."
