This privacy policy explains how HackVentures Sàrl, Rue de Bourg 27, c/o ExpertFid & Audit SA, 1003 Lausanne, Switzerland (“we”, “us”), processes personal data in connection with this website, our newsletters and our events (including HackSummit, FoodHack and ClimateHack meetups). - Contact and identification data you provide when you register for an event, apply to volunteer, subscribe to a newsletter or contact us (such as name, email address, telephone number, company and role);
- Registration and participation data relating to our events (such as ticket type, attendance, availability and scheduling information);
- Correspondence you exchange with us, including by email and messaging services;
- Basic newsletter and website interaction data (such as subscription status and whether an email was opened or clicked).

‍We process personal data to organise and run our events and communities; to manage registrations, applications and volunteering; to communicate with participants; to send newsletters and event information; to ensure the safety and good conduct of our events and online spaces, including the application of our codes of conduct; to comply with legal obligations; and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell personal data. We share personal data only with IT service providers acting on our behalf as processors (such as email, form, spreadsheet, database, event-registration and messaging providers). These providers may host data on infrastructure located outside Switzerland, including in the United States; where that is the case, we rely on recognised safeguards in accordance with the FADP.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, to comply with statutory retention obligations under Swiss law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. When the applicable period expires, the data is deleted or anonymised.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, to request its rectification or erasure, and to object to or request restriction of certain processing. You may also withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (for example, by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter). Exercising your rights is free of charge.
